SYSTEM UPGRADE: HARDWIRE-OS v1.0.0 Release

SYSTEM UPGRADE: HARDWIRE-OS v1.0.0 Release

We’ve promised that HARDWIRE is an evolving device. Thanks to the computational power and memory in the Audio Cortex, we can push updates that drastically change and upgrade the whole HARDWIRE system through the central HARDWIRE-OS.

So far, this has meant mostly minor bug fixes to get HARDWIRE closer to our vision. We’ve been rolling out updates in response to feedback, and updating and refining features like sound profiles lights. We’re now excited to share our biggest update yet: HARDWIRE-OS v1.0.0

Here’s what we’ve done:

Sound Profile Recalibration: The largest and most noticeable update in v1.0.0 is the sound. We’ve completely recalibrated HARDWIRE’s signature Holographic Audio. Through testing, we’ve been able to push our Planar-Dynamic Driver even further than we thought was possible, using methods that would have shattered our previous drivers.

Based on what we learned, we made massive changes to all three of our built-in sound configurations: Default, Combat, Open-World, making HARDWIRE sound like three completely different beasts. This means huge gains in clarity, spatial precision, and, most importantly, addictive quality.

Compatibility fixes for Android devices: We learned from our community that there were certain android devices that people were having difficulty connecting to with HARDWIRE. We fixed all known problems.

Audio Cortex noise floor reduction: Some users noted a very minor ‘hissing’ from the Audio Cortex when nothing was playing. This was due to the built-in amplifier creating a baseline hiss, A.K.A. a noise floor. Through some tweaking, that hiss should now be significantly reduced, if not, eliminated entirely.

Toggle On/Off Low Energy Bluetooth: Some users have expressed that the reason they want a wired earbud is to limit exposure to electromagnetic frequencies (EMF). HARDWIRE uses low energy Bluetooth functionality to connect to the Soundscape, which emits some negligible EMF. However, we’ve now introduced the ability to completely turn off this low-energy Bluetooth through the Soundscape, eliminating EMF emissions.

It can be turned back on at any time by holding the action button for 8 seconds if you do wish to reconnect to the app for future system upgrades or EQ tweaks. Any EQ adjustments you make before you disable low energy Bluetooth will be stored and used until you change them.

Infrastructure for SANCAST functionality: In this update, we’re laying the groundwork for some exciting simultaneous listening features that we will hopefully be able to reveal soon. Keep an eye out for future updates.
