THE QUESTION
This project started with a question:
Can you fully produce, mix, and master a cinematic remix — using only wireless in-ear monitors?
With SANWEAR-GT, the answer is yes.
Sound designer Sam Barker takes us deep into Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira, rebuilding its legendary soundscape using SANWEAR-GT and QUANTUM, the world's first wireless in-ear monitors for spatial production. Granular synths. 3D panning. Explosive motion. And it was all done without ever touching a pair of over-ear studio headphones.

BEHIND THE MIX
"This was all about motion and chaos. I layered granular synth textures and dynamic spatial panning to reflect the energy of Neo-Tokyo. Kaneda's bike, Tetsuo's powers, the pulse of the city — everything moves in 3D space."
— Sam Barker
